as stated above, i, the webmaster, fucking love animal crossing

Animal crossing is a game series started by nintendo in like idfk the 2000s or smthn im not google. I got into animal crossing after my parents got me my beloved 3ds for my tenth birthday. With the present money from that birthday, i got mario maker, pokemon moon and, ofc animal crossing new leaf.

My Animal Crossing New Leaf town

I knew about animal crossing before i got my first game. I had an art teacher who really liked animal crossing. I respected that art teacher, so when she told me i would like animal crossing, i took her advice. I watched game plays (i think?? i dont know i dont really remember anything pre-13.) and started saving to buy my own 3ds so i could play new leaf. (idk why i didnt just get city folk, i literally had a wii i was kinda dumb though).

New leaf was my first game. I got a used copy off of ebay like the day after i got my 3ds. After recieving my little game cheezit in the mail the town of CatTown was started. CatTown is my first ever town, and still is my only town. i played this game RELIGIOUSLY. If i recall, i think i have 400 hours of gameplay. I would wake up early to play before school, and i would stay up late playing into the night. I grinded for bells on the island and i think i never paid off all my debts. I was the world worst 10-12 year old mayor.

Town started: march 7th 2019. First villagers: Chevre, Leonardo, Cyrano, Elmer, and Olivia. Town fruit: Apples. Do i have all the fruit? Hell yeah i do. Current town residents: Blaire, Leonardo, Cheri, Chevre, Pinky, Merry, Charlise, Lucha, Drake, and bizkit. Am i going to come back to this one any time soon? the a button on my 3ds only works sometimes and i dont have the money to go figure out why right now, so no. current town rating They think the town is trashy and fucked bc ive been gone for like 4 years. Hours played: 313 hours

Screenshots! these are all old ones i cherry picked and pulled from my 3ds sd card. ive got literally thousands. most are so out of context i dont even remember why i took them.

My Animal Crossing New Horizons Island

Ive had a switch since 2017. Its not my switch, its my Family's. I, like everyone during covid got acnh. I saved up for it with my brother. I saved up most the money so i got to start the save. We bought it on the switch online store, and started our lame ass save.

I called our island Delfino. I dont have a good reason for that, mario sunshine isnt even my favorite mario game, my favorite mario game is mario 3. At the time i liked it i guess. Like everyone else at the time i played it for hours on end, and im gonna be so fr, i dont remember any of it. I was gonna make it aesthetic i guess but i really dont remember what my goals were. I stopped playing it like 2 years ago, because my brother wont let me do most anything.

Island started: April 30th, 2020. First Villagers: Canberra and Flip. Island fruit: Cherries. Current island residents: Canberra, Flip, Lionel, Ozzie, Audie, Beau, Toby, Merengue, Tex, Lily. am i gonna come back to this one anytime soon? probably. its not a bad game its just not great, but considering my 3ds is fucked i play this sometimes. Current Island rating 3 stars .Hours played: 205 hours ish, switch does it in 5s.

Screenshots, all of these are from a few months ago. Recently (like august-sep) ive gotten back into acnh and cleaned up a bit.

Aika Village

I dont remember what the first town i visted with the dream stuff was, but man do i remember aika village. I heard about aika village from an old youtuber i used to watch (at this point i dont remember who, i just remember that she made really cool animal crossing villages with hacks). She (whomever she is) did a tour of aika village, and i thought it was the coolest. Ive always been such a huge scardy cat, was even more then, and i can barely stomach horror. So something like this was extra spooky to me. The music, the dreary atmosphere, the confusing storyline; it all came together in away that captivated 11 year old me.i had to visit it myself. I dont remember most of my own visit, just that i wandered without really understanding any of it. It still scared me though. Anyway, if you havent looked up aika village before, go and give it a look. It is legitmately one of the most coolest animal crossing new leaf towns ever. like i said, i cant stomach horror, i get so freaked out by the smallest things (i watched twf in church instead of listening to the sermon(not christian but family is) bc i couldnt stand to watch it by myself) and this still legitmately freaks me out. the room with the eye pics is not included that one genuinely makes me so scared.

some screenshots i stole off of google

my thoughts on animal crossing as a whole

i think animal crossing is a fine game series. I think if it were on pc, it would be one of the games more heavily associated with 'girly gaming'. not that it isnt already. i havent played all the games, and i dont plan on doing so. I think playing new leaf and new horizons the way i have has given me the animal crossing experience i needed. I do think however, that as the games have gone on, they have lost their personalities. I have looked back at gameplay from population growing, from wildworld and from cityfolk, and those games are just full of personality. The angry villagers, the silly furniture, heck even the grass deteoration. It all adds to such a charming gameplay experience. And i think new horizons just doesnt have that. It is just too corperate, too unfinished. I think they got all the money they wanted to get, and abandoned it. Everyone bought it, and they (nintendo) made all the money back. I dont like nintendo as a game company, i dont like any company. i think everything is turning out this way, the same way new horizons is. corperate, clean, the 'best' version to be sold, the most sanitary. i think most all non indie games lack the passion that older nintendo games had. Not that nes games have the most personality in the world, but i feel like just on the basis of the people who worked on it because they wanted to adds a lot more value. Look at mario world, that game is full of personality. It is the first appearance of yoshi, it has the best soundtrack of any mainline mario game imo and then look at mario wonder. Mario wonder isnt a bad game but it just doesnt have the same personality. I feel that way about new horizons. i know this is just one rambly text wall, that no one is going to read, but i enjoyed writting it. Thank you for looking at my animal crossing shrine
